Smart applications that have changed our life

We live in an era where technology not only facilitates our daily tasks, but also completely transforms the way we relate to the world.

In our day-to-day lives we use many so-called smart applications, which over time have evolved from being occasional supports to become indispensable in our lives. These tools integrate three key factors: artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation.

Which of these applications have had such an impact on our daily lives? Read on!

Personal and home control: virtual assistants

Alexa, put yoghurt on the shopping list’ or “Siri, how do I get to the gym?” these phrases have already become commonplace in our routines. Apps such as Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant are here to stay. It is no longer necessary to look up the answer to a question on Google, it is enough to ask it out loud and these assistants will answer you instantly.

They also have a learning capacity, so if you use them on a regular basis, they will start to learn your routines and make small day-to-day processes easier.

The car map has become obsolete

The sight of a driver asking how to get to a certain place is becoming less and less frequent, as are those impromptu stops to consult the map.

Nowadays we have applications such as Waze or Google Maps on our phones, which offer us the fastest, most direct routes, the ones with the least traffic… to reach our destination. These apps offer real-time information, so our routes are automatically recalculated at all times, which offers us greater efficiency.

Financial applications: the bank in your pocket

Not so long ago, making a money transfer required being in person at a bank branch. Today, we can make these transfers with just a phone number. Technologies such as Bizum or Revolut offer the possibility of instant transfers. Banking services have taken a giant leap forward with the application of new technologies.

Nowadays, all banks have their own application from which we can manage all our money, contract financial services or even make investments.

Beyond conventional entertainment

Entertainment has also undergone changes. Traditional radio and television have evolved towards platforms such as Netflix, Spotify or social networks such as Instagram and TikTok.

These platforms offer us an infinite amount of content so that we can select the one we like the most. It is no longer necessary to wait for the latest films to be broadcast on television or for the radio to play the latest song by our favourite artist. This content is in the palm of our hand. In addition, like this application, it has the advantage of learning, so that depending on our tastes, they recommend new content that matches what we have previously searched for.

Automation in the workplace

The workplace is no exception to these technological advances. The application of AI with ChatGPT or Sora, is just one example of how fast solutions and–analysis can be achieved in the marketing industry.

These technologies help automate tasks and improve the customer experience, relieving teams of the most repetitive day-to-day issues.

It is clear that new technologies are making our day-to-day lives much easier, simplifying tasks that used to require greater effort. Now we just have to wait and see how far we are going to evolve.
